Free Meal Delivery in New York — Your Questions Answered
Who qualifies for free meals in New York?
New York residents with Medicaid who have a qualifying health condition — such as diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, obesity, asthma, COPD, kidney disease, or a mental health condition — may qualify for free weekly meal delivery through the NY 1115 Waiver program.
Is this meal program really free?
Yes — 100% free. The meals are fully covered through the NY Medicaid 1115 Waiver. There is no cost at any step, from the application to weekly delivery.
How do I apply for free meal delivery?
You can apply online in about five minutes. Fill out the short application with your name, address, Medicaid number, and health condition — our team then calls you to finish your screening.
What health conditions qualify?
Qualifying conditions include diabetes, hypertension, obesity, asthma, heart disease or CHF, mental health disorders, substance use disorder, COPD, kidney disease, HIV/AIDS, cancer, depression and anxiety, and more.
Do I need Medicaid to qualify?
Yes. Medicaid is required to participate in the NY 1115 Waiver free meal delivery program. If you are not sure whether you have Medicaid, apply anyway and our team will help you check.
